Review: Hieronymus Brown 03

Hieronymus is a Swiss company that specialise in bespoke stationary from notebooks to writing instruments and inks. Hieronymus has kindly sent me 3 ink samples. The samples came in glass bottles. They look nice but they are rather impractical. Only really slim pens would be able to fit down the neck of the bottle. I had to syringe fill my converter and piston.

Now let’s talk price, these are almost $70 SGD per bottle, that’s not including shipping cost. Hieronymus inks are not for the faint of heart.

Now that we’ve got that aside, let’s get down to business. How are the inks? Let’s start with Brown 03. This is a very light ink. It’s almost hard to read what’s written. The links on the page stand out more than the ink. It’s a subtle shade of warm grey more than brown really. It shades slightly and has a moderate flow. Looking at the swatches on the website, all series 03 inks are of a lighter shade when compared to series 01 and 02. Personally, I found Brown 03 an interesting but ultimately impractical choice of colour.

I will be giving away the remaining ink sample of Hieronymus Brown 03. Just drop me a comment below. This giveaway is open to all residing in Singapore. The giveaway ends 18th April.

My thanks to Hieronymus for providing me a free sample of Brown 03. You can find them at their website or Facebook and Instagram.
